What is Glukofix ?
GlukoFix is natural product and contains 100% alpha cyclodextrin, a special natural water-soluble type of dietary fiber derived from potato. GlukoFix is a completely safe product which contributes to the reduction of blood glucose rise after starch-containing meals (bread, all flour based products, potatoes and other root vegetables, rice, pasta, cereals, cereal bars, pulses/legumes like beans, peas and lentils, banana etc.). To have this effect, at least 5 g of GlukoFix per 50 g of starch (not food) should be consumed. Furthermore according to published research, GlukoFix can have beneficial effects on blood lipids and weight loss in healthy humans after consuming it daily for a period of two months and more.

How it Works ?
GlukoFix works by reducing blood glucose rise after starch-containing meals. It has an inhibitory effect on pancreatic amylase, meaning that it reduces the effect of an enzyme produced by our pancreas, which breaks down starch to glucose. It may also slow gastric emptying, meaning how fast our stomach content gets emptied into the small intestine for further digestion. GlukoFix has an EU approved health claim of lowering blood sugar increase after starch containing meals, it is also good for the gut flora, blood cholesterol, and being also water soluble fibre in the prevention of colon cancer. The product is good for everyone, but especially for diabetic and/or overweight individuals. Since Glucofix reduces the glycemic index and load of starch containing meals, it may also through this contribute to lower risk of cardiovascular disease (heart disease), some common cancer types and chronic diseases involving inflammation.

How do I use it ?
GlukoFix is a completely odourless, colourless and tasteless powder that can be dissolved 100% in drinks or food. Its efficacy is not affected by temperature so, it can be used in multiple food preparation applications. Therefore you can mix it with your water (or another beverage) and consume it together with starchy foods, you can add it it during food preparation (i.e. bread or cake mix, potato mash, porridge, rice or pasta sauce etc.) using it as an additional ingredient in your recipe or you can simply sprinkle it on top of an already cooked meal or your breakfast cereal.

“Consumption of alpha-cyclodextrin as part of a starch-containing meal contributes to the reduction of the blood sugar rise after that meal.”
*In order to bear out the claim, at least 5 g of alpha-cyclodextrin (Glukofix) per 50 g of starch should be consumed.
